It has been a busy year for Local 1000 Business Agents and staff with over 1350 Grievances filed and $510,000.00 recovered for our members, which almost doubled from last year.  We also have ten (10) members currently out on leave assisting the Local in its Wake Up Walmart Campaign.  Local 1000 will have a very busy year in 2011 with new grocery companies entering the market in North Texas and Oklahoma.  It is important that we protect our good Union jobs and not let non-union companies come in and drive down wages and benefits.  That is why I am asking each and every member to get involved and help your local Union to not only protect your Union Jobs and Benefits but also grow your Local.  If you know anyone that works for any of the Non-Union Companies that are threatening your wages and benefits or you would like to volunteer, please contact your Business Agent.
